1) Change max voltage to 29.7. It won't ruin the batteries. That's a 25mv difference at the cell level, which it won't notice.
2) Change the overvoltage shutdown point. It will require a resistor change.
3) Do the diode thing but switch the diode in at 29.5 volts so you don't incur the losses.

You need a BIG heatsink because that could dissipate 200W. If this has an actual ON/OFF power switch, I would put a 1A diode there so only the control sense would see the voltage drop.Leave a comment:

Hello friends,
i've meanwell's inverter TS-3000 24v. According to the specs, the high voltage cut off is 30v but in reality it's lower at 29.7v My wet batteries need 30v @25C at absorbing which makes the inverter to shut down and come back at the floating stage. You could blame me for wrong design. Yes, it's my fault.
I've placed the inverter to the market so as to sell it, but my expectations are low.
So i'm trying to find a solution and i came up with the below ideas:- Change battery bank with one with lower charge voltages (but it's hard to sell too)
- Add a 150amp diode at the positive DC side of the inverter to trigger voltage drop of at least 0.5v and up to 1.5v (of course with power loss)
- Limit the charge voltage at 29.6v but i think it'll ruin the batteries. The lowest according to the battery manufacturer is 29.8 (for rarely charge/discharge)

But i can't understand the specs. Power diode ? Rectifier diode ? Zener ? Stud ?
