Hi there,
My mppt charge controller has an interesting problem and I'm not sure whether it's a faulty product or I just installed it wrong.
The controller has 3 lights to display 1) The panels are providing electricity 2) The battery status; and 3) A direct load from the controller.
I hooked it up as per the instructions, to the battery first, then to the panels. There was no display and the unit started to become quite hot.
So I began to have a play around and found that when I disconnected one of the wires to the battery the light display came on to show that the panels were providing electricity and that the batteries were disconnected. As soon as I reconnect the batteries the display shuts off completely.
So what do you think? Faulty product or have I done something wrong?
Cheers,
Tim
