Hello! I have 2 Sunny Boy Inverters SB-7.7 ISP-US-40 7680 Watt we just got 2 Sonnen batteries installed and one of the inverters shuts off at night and can not communicate. So the sonnen I think is working but can’t “talk” or report anything to any of the apps. It just shows it is down. Same with that one Sunny Boy. Any ideas what it could be? My Installer said if it isn’t getting 120v the inverter will shut down? Why isn’t it getting 120V and the other one is? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You need 240VAC connected to the inverters.
Do you have an electrical schematic for the install?
Are you knowledgeable with your home network? -
PROBABALY NORMAL. my sunny boy inverters shut down when the sun goes down. why would you want them running and using energy anways?Comment

You should be able to communicate with all pieces of equipment even after the sun quits shining. I was trying to determine if the problem was truly equipment related or a network problem. Since the OP has not reported back in, I'll have to assume the problem has been resolved. Also, since the Sonnen has a built in ATS, I was curious how the installer configured the two inverters and two Sonnen batteries; even more so because the installer mention not having "120" connected to the inverter as a possible cause since the inverter uses split phase 240.Comment

oregon_phil- Thank you so much for your reply! No I don’t have the schematics. Now my Sonnen battery shuts off too! I am assuming it is because it should be charging from 1am-6am where we have super off peak hours & it is unable to do that since the inverter is off. I called my installer and he said it is normal for the inverter to go off at night??? But now I have a battery and that isn’t going to work! I am so upset! I have been telling my installer for a year that one of the inverters shuts off at night... if it is normal why does the other one stay on? Anything I can do?6274465-C-3324-4-A11-8060-E80387-D3-CC7-D.jpgComment

You don't have the schematic, but the documents must have been submitted to the county/city authorities in order for your installer to proceed. The installer owes you a copy of the schematic.
Can you take a picture of your electrical panel showing the main breaker and breakers for the sonnen and SMA inverters? If you have more than one electrical panel, take pictures of all of them.
In order to figure out what's going on, you really need to know how to access the equipment from your home network. Lets start with the inverters. Do you know how to access the SMA inverter's login screen?
