    Because you left the defaults.

and you likely should also set the module type premium

Roof Mounted 11.25 kW System Review & Questions

    Hi All,

I have a few questions regarding the system I just ordered (renvu). I'll start with a system "overview". I'm happy to supply more info (prices, complete parts list, etc.) if anyone desires...
    • roof - metal standing seam (1" double lock); 8/12 pitch (34 degrees); azimuth 183
    • shading - minimal on the east side; wood stove chimney at ridge
    • location - worcester vt
    • panels
      • 30x Seraphim 375W Mono 72 Cell / Silver SEG-6MA-375WW (SEG-6MA-375WW)
      • 2x rows of 12 in portrait
      • 1x row of 6 in landscape
    • inverter / optimizers
      • 1x SOLAREDGE 10kW HD-Wave Inverter with SetApp mobile application using built-in Wi-Fi station for local connection (SE10000H-US000BNU4)
      • 30x SOLAREDGE Power Optimizer P505 Module Add-On 505W/83VDC. MC4 input connectors, module-level monitoring, 25 years warranty
      • 2x strings of 15 modules each (see image below)

    • racking
      • roof connection - s5! S-5-E Mini
      • racking - ironridge xr100

    So... My questions...

    (1) I pre-installed a 1" EMT conduit from the roof to the basement in anticipation for PV solar. What is the best way to get this conduit into a junction box? The conduit has a tradition flange and is vertical. I'm hoping this conduit and the j-box will be under a panel. Maybe you can see in the photo below.

    (2) Speaking of junction boxes, should I use a combiner to transition from 2 strings to 1 "string" for the run to the basement/inverter or just a simple junction box to transition to appropriate wire for conduit and bring both strings to the basement?

    (3) There is a significant difference between PVWatts & Solaredge Designer annual energy estimates (13.79 MWh vs 16.27MWh respectively). PVWatts inputs were left to defaults (except of course, location, array type, and tilt). See output pics below... Any ideas why there is such a discrepancy?

Let's start with that! Thanks MUCH for any feedback (re: my questions or anything else)...
