There is fungus amongus - Roof Moss on Panels

I was looking at my original grid tied array circa 1982 and noticed I have something similar to roof moss growing between the panel frame and glass in some places. There are white margins around the actual PVs so there is no shading issues anytime soon but its interesting that it would form on the solar panel as normally it forms on the shady sides of roofs I guess at some point I need to put in some zinc strips on the top of the panel. Northern NH isn't a particularly wet climate. The array is hung out from a wall with drainage from the roof hitting them so I expect it got inoculated by the roof shingles, but to date its not apparent on the roof.

I plan to leave it as science experiment unless it starts expanding rapidly but expect it is just barely hanging on under the frame lip and the sun keeps it trimmed back. Its only 660 watt array so its not critical to household.
