Bluewater if you don't mind who are you getting the quotes from? I know some people in the local industry who could be of some help.

call me tomorrow @602-920-0652 I will give you a name/number to call to get you the system/price you want. Also APS is going to make big changes if the ACC allows it on OCT 15 2013. So must be in contract by then to get your grandfather on Net Metering. As good as solar is for everybody the utilities are going to make things difficult in the future

It just means that for those prices you are most likely being taken for a sucker.

Anyone can post any high price they want but around 6 dollars per watt is totally unrealistic for almost all installations. Maybe on a mountain top where panels have to be flown in -

SolarJack....do you have your system installed yet? I'm seriously considering the a LG290/Enphase 250 proposal from the same company over the SunPower E19/240 option. They are both 11.04kW systems and the prices of the 2 systems are very similar

I would have but the panels that came were the silver framed ones. I ordered the all black Mage 250mnbs. All the other work has been done though. If the price is cheaper with the LG I would go with those panels. Hopefully, you got a more friendly price. My neighbor has a 10kw system and it has been doing 50kw+ daily. Now it is lower when it's the dead of summer though. I had the inverter put in the garage and it looks pretty good couple added boxes on outside and some paint its pretty good. All bent rigid conduit up through the attic and out. Could I have lived with the other panels yeah, but the problem was I ordered black not silver for aesthetics.

It will be interesting to see my 6.5kw system compare to neighbors 10kw with different panels, inverter, pitch of roof but same direction of array with sun. My pitch is lower and mono panels with a higher efficiency inverter. Yet, the roof pitch will probably make more difference than anything.

                        I will keep you posted
