    Wiring

Need help I have 10 panels,55 Watt 18 MVP 12 volt battery bank 10 6 volt golf cart battery s set up in a 12 volt pattern. Can I wire two panels in series and then 5 sets parallel feed 12 /24 controller and get 12 volts only to batteries thank you

That gives you a 12V 1,000ah battery. To properly charge it for daily cycles, you need 100A of charge current (10% of total battery capacity)

You have 440useable watts, at 14V charging, gives 31 amps, which is more than "just a little short". It would work as a battery maintainer for float use

Not without a true MPPT charge controller.

As mentioned above, you need to address your undercharging deficiencies and also your 5 string battery bank is questionable.

Neither one of you guys are answer ing my question, while I thank you for your infro,I really just need to know if I can wire two panels series to get higher MVP volts to charge controller. And I don't understand why batteries are questionable thanks RJ

PS a have a mppt charge controller 60 amp it says 36 volt MVP at 12 or 76 MVP at 24 so don't want to burn anything up ,thanks again and know I am a dummy at understand ing this newby all the way

You can wire those 10 panels in a 2S5P configuration but you will first need some type of combiner box with overcurrent protection for each parallel string of panels.

Second if you checked what the others have posted you should understand that to properly balance a solar battery system you will either need more panel wattage or less batteries. The target is to generate (in amps) about 1/10 the Ah rating of your battery system. With only 550watts total you fall short of that 1/10 amp value.

Third is while your CC is rated for 60 amps that 36v MVP may be an issue with 2 18Vmp panels wired in series. To determine your max input voltage you add up the Voc of each panel in the string. Then if you live in a cold area you need to add about 15% to that number. If your panels generate more then the CC max input voltage you can fry it.

Thank you so much, that ans my question, I should just wire all ten in parallel .I only use the system for TV and blower motor for furnace so far I just recharge them every 3 days with rv convertor. And generator thank you again

You don't know the consequences of asking an uninformed question, so here you go

                Yes.

When you get at least one year of electrical schooling, then you will understand the answer about the batteries being sketchy. Till then, this may be in enough plainspeak:
