I haven't bought a solar panel system yet because I'm still learning more about it, but if there is a power outage in my area and my solar panels are still drawing electricity while being I'm grid connected, isn't it dangerous for the people working on the lines? How does that work?

Re: Solar Panel Installation question
Hi Sunhammer, that's a very good and important question your bring up.
Your grid-tie inverter has a voltage monitor to prevent power being fed back during power outages. Your solar panels system will shut down automatically to prevent this scenario from happening. When the electricity comes back on, your system will automatically start running again. Thanks and I hope to see more posts from you! -
Re: Solar Panel Installation question
i always wondered how that work and now i know! it saves the hassle from having someone from the electricity company having to go to all the houses with solar panels and turning them off.Comment
