I'm new and would appreciate some advice. I'm looking at installing a 13.4kw system in San Antonio, TX. I am looking at using the German Axitec solar panels, does anyone have any experience with them? Thanks, Pecan

Of all the brands offered by the companies we received estimates from, the SunEdison and Axitec had the best warranties and performance data. I liked the SunPower but the cost wasn't justifiable.Comment

Axitec looks like a decent panel, but unless it's a lot lower in price than other, non Sunpower panels, it doesn't seem superior in any particular way.Comment

One installer recommended Axitec panels when I told him I didn't want Chinese panels.
A little research showed the panels were made in "China or Taiwan".
Their website is vague, with some panels being made in "Europe" by partners.
Not saying at all that they are not good quality, I have no idea. But "German" is a bit of a stretch.6k LG 300, 16S, 2E, 2W, Solaredge P400s and SE5000Comment

So is there another brand you guys recommend, also need them to be solid black as they will be in front of my home?Comment

I believe SolarWorld's 'Sunmodule Plus' line includes some all black panels that are made in the USA. The model number sequence for their all black panels terminates with the words "mono black".
Do a search for "SolarWorld Sunmodule SW 275 MONO BLACK", for but one Watt output example of this series.
There may be others that are all black and not Chinese as well.Comment

I think Sunpower has some black panels also, but are pricey unless space is an issue. Not sure where they're made.6k LG 300, 16S, 2E, 2W, Solaredge P400s and SE5000Comment

I've talked to 2 different companies. Since my roof doesn't face south, one company strongly recommended mounting them on the east side, another company strongly recommended west. Also, makers of the panels- I've been told LG or Axilect. I should get a third estimate I guess.Comment
