2014-1.jpg2014-2.jpg2014-3.jpg2014-4.jpg2014-5.jpg I have a Interstate Deep Cycle HD24-DP Battery, 5 watt solar tickle charge panel, a dual 12 volt power outlet, 3 single bulb RV 12 volt lights I have started installing on my Enclosed Trailer. Basically wanted to have use of lighting and charging cell phone, and run a small 400 watt ac/dc converter to power a dvd/tv combo while camping and riding ATV in the mountains. Just wondering what you guys thought about my budget starter kit, what problems I could except?

The HD24 is a 75ah (900wh) battery... meaning you can safely drain 180wh between charges.
Your DVD/TV alone will consume more than 180wh per 90 minute flick.
That 5watt trickle charge will take more than 10 days to fully recharge the battery from a 80% soc, 20 days from 60% soc, etc....
Are you planning on using the camper once every 10 days?
Unfortunately your combo is extremely mis-matched. Wrong Panel. Wrong Battery. Wrong Inverter... nice trailer though.SunLight @ Night -
You need 75 to 100 watt panel to support that battery. 5 watt panel is grossly undersized to be of any use.MSEE, PEComment

Hey thanks for the info as you can tell I know nothing about putting the right equipment to gather. Sounds like anything below 200 watts of panels will be a waste of time glad that the only thing I have invested is 90.00 in a new battery. Any suggestions on brands/setup equipment to get most bang for my buck?Comment

200watt panel may not be enough.
First thing to do is find a grid-tied panel locally.
If you do, then CC suggestions can be made accordingly.
If you are not able to find a GT panel for under $1.50/watt...
then amazon.com sells Renogy 100watt panels for $150/free-shipping.
Again, CC suggestions based on the panel(s) you buy.SunLight @ NightComment

If nothing else, you can wire up your new battery as a separate "house" battery charged through an isolator from the tow vehicle's charging system. Although the battery may be a little small for that too.SunnyBoy 3000 US, 18 BP Solar 175B panels.Comment

I've used Renogy's 100watt panels and like them.
IMO, the superior packaging gives the company some credibility.
I've never used their "bundle" CC... so can't comment on that.SunLight @ NightComment
