Should I leave the battery cap on when charging with generator or grid?

Hi guys,

When I charge the batteries with generator or grid, should I leave the cap on or should I take off the cap? those are the regular caps, NOT auto feed caps.

Only time you remove the caps is to measure SPG or check/add water.
