I have found 2 methods to revive them.(1) put them on the tray of the Suzuki multicab and drive then 40k cross country.cheap, effecient.as im going crosscountry anyway.(2) Use fish tank aerator and pump air continuously into each cell.tube goes to bottom of each cell .but the added power the pump uses negates the power output benefits.
You can get batteries N100 .about double the size of N70 batteries like many 4wds use like landcruiser nissan etc. for about p4000 and get about p2000 back in 2 yrs time. compared to about p10,000 in Manila and Cebu for deep cycle batteries. I only use 3.

But have used lithium ion phosphate on others systems ,for no maintainance, but more expensive by considerably more.
What tray are you pertaining to? You mean senselessly agitating the batteries revive it?

Looks like you've had some experience on batteries. Deep cycle are really quite expensive. I've learned though that for certain usage behavior, typical car batteries would really suffice. Thanks for sharing the info!

Its not senselessly agitating the batteries as it works.it really does, as its a bit like charging them at 15.5v it gets the acid "washing" the plates.
Im sure you have seen many Suzuki multicabs, but they usually fitted with 2 rows side seats ,Will they all start as just pickup vehicles . like a very small truck
All the "experts" laugh at car/truck batteries for solar use but in many places in the world they really are the only way to go economically, as they are available EVERYWHERE.

You might want to check with HelioPower.com to see if they are in the Philippines

I can't say if they are currently installing there or not. I know they do work in Nicaragua, but are exclusively in California within the United States.

hehe sorry, you're right. if it works, then it makes sense.

yeah, i've seen those mini trucks around. i always thought they were handy for service provider companies.

agree to the ubiquity of truck batteries. i hope that with the emergence of RE technologies, the existing sales channels start carrying deep cycle too.

alright, thanks for the input! i'll check

Car . Truck Batteries for Solar

Hi John P and mat mat
Great exchange of infos on the batteries
Im just a newbie and just starting to pick up on the solar

They say that car / truck batteries are not storage batteries unlike deep cycle batteries.... but genset usually used this...
I think with proper charging / discharging and desulfation technologies coming out these batteries can be at par with the deep cycle ones
Aearating the cells seems a great idea but only good in moving vehicles just to disperse the hydrogen
For sealed type, rejuventation is isially done by drilling holes on the cells and refill with distilled water
In Bulacan and laguna, UN funded solar communities with a budget of 5000 pesos each consisting of 4 20 w fluro lights and one 12 v dc 12 inches nivelco tv and one car battery.. had freed themselves from the weekly rise in power rates ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES HAVING THE 3RD HIGHEST POWER RATE IN ASIA
This forum serve me right ..... thanks to the members and moderators giving their professional advice and insight to the solar world......

              Why not buy from China

              Dear ,
Why must buy from PH , why not try buy from China supplier , you know most of the Solar module import from CN .

You can find a chine supplier and check with them the price , shipping etc .
Anyway the problem is how to get the high qulity products .....

              Wish you good luck

                Hi
                thanks for the advice,
I am doing it right now but still testing its performance ,,,,,, Most of the products in China are quantity and not quality based ,,,,, the same goes with their wind farms where there was a news report that their wind turbines are a disaster in terms of long time operation

Customs duty into Phils can vary anywhere betwen 10% and 100% of the value of the item. In just about ALL cases customs DO NOT go by any invoice that is with the item. They just think of a number add todays date subtract their cats birthday multiply that by the smokes they need that day and Viola the customs duty for that item is XXXXX PESO.
And you cant contact them and ask before you have the item arive, so each time you receive even an identical item it wont be anything like the same duty.. Welcome to the Philippines.

TOTOALAS..Aearating the cells seems a great idea but only good in moving vehicles just to disperse the hydrogenAerating lead acid cells will improve charge times, increase capacity and slow down discharge. And it is been done with air pumps by some major battery manufacturers

Is there a technolgy in Solar world that instead of High amps capacity solar arrays only one small panel to handle your battery bank requirements??????

maybe you can locate an import/export company locally in the pines and have the equipment grouped to alleviate some of the shipping costs.... there are many companies in hk that do business over in the Philippines. It may make sense to head that route... you never know, maybe in a few years you'll be the master distributor for solar panels in the Philippines

If you can what you hope to do with a 10 w solar panel you will have performed a miracle equal to or better than any previous miracle claimed to have been performed
