    Solar water heater

Looking for advice. Installing a new metal roof over 1x2 furring strips. Going to run 450 feet of pex piping under charcoal colors roof. The house faces south and I live in Lansing Michigan. I have a wood boiler that holds 400 gallons of water not being used in summer months. Could I circulate the water from the wood stove in the roof and store the heat in the wood stove to heat my hot water in the summer. I already heat my water with wood stove in winter using a heat exchanger on hot water heater.

You will need freeze protection at the very least either a drain down system or a glycol based system.
Performance will not be great but the system will be inexpensive enough that high performance is not necessary.
