  • Adding a Few Solar Panels to Existing System

This is one of those, "I just have to ask" questions...

If I added six same sized solar panels to my existing 52 panel system, does anyone know if my utility company (Arizona Public Service) would notice or even have the time to care?

    Peace,
    Dr. Z.

I know the Enphase Envoy can be programmed for zero export. If it can be programmed to limit export to 18.5 kW that might be something to consider. My agreement in California allows 1kW increase without needing further approval. The limit is probably in the tariffs or in your agreement with your utility.
A friend in California added 3kW but limited his export to 1 kW above the inverter size specified in his agreement. The rest of the power serves his loads and charges his batteries. He did get a building permit so it was all done to code.
9 kW solar, 42kWh LFP storage. EV owner since 2012
