I had that at my old house. It was supposed to be for a spa but I only used it to backfeed from my 5500 watt gen set when we lost power from hurricanes.

On a per lbm basis, propane has a higher energy content (19904 vs. 18680 BTU/lbm), but because propane is less dense than gasoline, both in liquid form and also compared to an air fuel mixture of air/gasoline injected into a cylinder, less energy will be injected into a cylinder with every four stroke cycle. That may give a slightly better thermal efficiency to gasoline, depending on the particulars of the fuel handling system.
