  • thanks ,,, and first few fast questions please :)

    hi all,,,
first I would like greatly thanks the admins for accepting me amoung in the site and gave me the clearance to start writing new topics.
I thank all moderators who who dealed with my previous asking , also thanks to every 1 here either who asked or who answered ,,,, I really got much advantage and answeres when I was reading the forums, for much of my questioning before I start asking , either before I register in the site or after that.
please I have some few questions , and I hpe it wont bothers cuz I think it will take short answers....

    1. I want to know how to manually calculate my need of system equipment if I want to consume 900 watt daily 9 hours , btw I already read what sunking wrote , was very useful but when I compare it with internet calculators I got different answers , I used renogy site calc and altestore site ( if allowed to put the link for direct calculators page ? ) and btw I tried to use this site calculator but I couldn't I think for usa and Canada only , I am in asia.

    2. how can I know the size of cable to take 220v from A point to B point where the distance is 50 meters and the power consumption at B will be about 25 kwh, I need to know manually how? please.

    3. does it necessary to use hybrid when use solar system in houses or at least is it better? than of grid? . cuz 1 time I bought hybrid inverter with built in mppt regulator and charger but some 1 told me its not good cuz any of 1 of them brokedown , then I can't use the unit even if I replace the broken one separately , I mean outside from the unit it self.

enough for now cuz I think I botherd much ,,, thanks in advance.

(( sorry for my bad English , most of time I have to google words))

In the specific sections (grid tie, off grid - whichever fits your proposed install) there are many "stickie" posts that cover basic system planning and design.

"All-in-One" Solar/Charger/Inverter boxes are only as reliable as the company manufacturing them. I would avoid them.

thanks a lot mike what about the regulators which 1 you advise please ...?
I know there are some better but I am considering the price . unless they are bad or not good enough I would ignore the price and go for better.

I'm off grid and don't have the bandwidth to follow a bunch of links. Perhaps someone else can advise you about your choices. Personally, I like the Morningstar MPPT-60, which includes the web server, so you don't need the meter panel.

Personally, I think the first and forth controllers are junk. They are the same controller with rebranded labeling. The 2nd and 3rd look to be a bit more sophisticated but I know nothing about them. You're taking your chances with many of the cheaper Chinese made controllers You're going to pay more for the well known brands but you can usually be assured of a quality product that does what it's supposed to and last a long time.

Make sure the lower price Morningstar controller is an MPPT version. The PWM version looks very much the same.

Only the MPPT-60 has the web server interface built in, without it, you need meters, or their $100 meter face to replace the blank panel.

                        MakeSkyBlue has good reviews.
However, people have reported it has a problem of overcharging.
The company says the problem has been fixed in it's latest firmware v117.

The other issue is that there are fake MakeSkyBlue on amazon, ebay, aliexpress, etc. If you really want the authentic version, then buy direct from their website https://www.makeskyblue.com/60a.html or from their ebay, ...

Beware, don't expect customer support after purchase.
