  • Connect PV & Welder to same AC Breaker?

I have 5.5Kw of PV on my roof with a Sunny Boy Grid-Tie inverter.

The inverter attaches to a 30A 240V breaker pair in the 200A panel.

I need to add a 240V outlet for a new welder I bought, and this is the only breaker available I can attach it to. Electrically it seems the same if I attach it to those breaker terminals vs any other. The PV is still adding to, and the appliances are still subtracting from, the grid.

Is it functional to connect both the output from the inverter, and the input to the welder, to the same AC breaker terminals in the house electrical panel?

No, if there is no existing 240V outlet then you need an electrician to wire in a new circuit to run your welder off.

You can NOT have a load on the feed in breaker. This is against code and very dangerous fire hazard.
