Distance from PV to On-Grid Inverter Matters?

I am setting up and 1 KV 12 v On-Grid solar power system for my house. The distance from the Panels to the inverter is 15 m and I have used a 16 sqmm cables between them. The panel capacity is 1200W, (6 * 200 watts panel connected in parallell). Inverter is rated to genenrate 100W. but my Inverter generates only 455 watts in peak sun with +/- 2 deg alignment to the current sun.

What else could be done to improve the effeciency.

I presume you mean you have an OFF GRID system charging 12 volt batteries.

Based on wiring panels in parallel it sounds like you have a PWM type charge controller which is stealing a lot of the panel wattage based on how it works. You can also check to see what the maximum input wattage is allowed by your CC. It sounds like 1200watts is more then it was designed to handle.

I would get an MPPT type charge controller sized for 80amps for a 12volt battery system or go to a 24volt battery system and you can get away with a 60amp MPPT CC.

If you feel you have an ON GRID system then I would make sure your equipment is UL listed and approved by your POCO.
