Thoughts on the cost of this system?

The system under consideration is expensive because the components need to be from WA state to get production credits. It would be grid tied with battery back up..

Provide and install (30) 295 watt clear frame Itek panels. Panels to be mounted on ground mount railing.

Provide and install (2) Magnum Charge Controllers Provide and install (1) 8,000watt Radian Outback Inverter

Provide and install (8) Full River L-16 AGM batteries (6 volt 415 amp hours @ 20-hour rate)

The quote is $51,000. To make it comparable to other systems let's subtract the $15,000 production credit (earned over 3 years) and subtract $6,000 for the batteries and set up of them.

So call it a $30,000 system before federal tax. $3.38/ watt

    Thanks

Why are you using two controllers? At 8000 watt input and 160 amps charge current is going to cook the batteries with a C/3 charge current.

This post sounds very familiar or dejavu .

It is a little Deja Vu! The system you guys helped me with last year is in my home in CO. The latest is for a recreational property. It has sporadic power outages. We have an old generator there but are concerned about running water pumps and wood burning furnace fans if we had no fuel for the generator.

ill ask the vendor about the C/3 rate.
