  • Got my final plan! Plus an inverter question.

As seen in the attached, my final submitted plans are complete. Almost there! I was trying really hard to decide between SMA and SolarEdge for a few weeks and decided to not pay the extra $1,300 they wanted for SE. Well, they ended up giving me the SE7600A-US after all for the same price paired with 23 Q.PLUS BFR-G4.1 (280) panels. So I guess I get the ability to upgrade to StorEdge down the road and panel level monitoring after all.

My inverter question is with the SE7600A-US, will I be able to add more panels down the road. I suck at math, and trying to understand all the conversions, but it seems like this inverter is rated at 7.6kW and my system is 6.44kW right? Does that mean I could add about 4 more 280 panels to maximize this inverter?

you can have up to 10.25kw DC attached to the SE7600:

that would result in some clipping but you can certainly have more than 7.6kw without any clipping on the inverter as 7.6kw is the AC output and it takes more than that in DC to get it.

Thanks. There is always some conversion or AC or DC thing I misunderstand. Good to know that I do have plenty of room to grow if I ever have the need.
