  • Any SolarEdge Gurus in the house?

    Hi All
I'm thinking about using a SolarEdge (newer) Wave inverter in the pv system I will be setting up this spring. I want to set up a critical load panel and AC couple the SE inverter with a small <100 ah battery bank, and inverter. A GTI normally uses the grid as a buffer and pushes extra pv power into the grid, and pulls make up power from it. At the times when the SE GTI is disconnected from the grid (transfer switch). What I want to know is:
    (1) Will the SE GTI be damaged if the pv power into it is more than the loads and batteries can use?
    (2) Will the SE inverter be damaged if the household loads are greater than the pv panels can supply?

I read an article by an installer that SEEMED to say that the SE optimizers will cut down on the power the modules supply to the inverter to keep (1above) from happening. The boys at SE didn't have an answer.
    Thanks in advance
    Pete
