  • Xantrex XW going crazy since move

We have a 5 year old Xantrex XW 21K grid tied, battery back up system that was moved to another location this Fall. Recently began charging exclusively from grid and discharging/selling back to grid (from the changed batteries) in 15-20 minute intervals, night and day, 24/7 with no solar input despite ample sunshine. System indicates that it is working normally. 3 separate Manuals present no such challenge that can be found.

Was going to attempt a 'factory' reset to basic settings next warm day....Saturday may hit mid 20's.

    Any advise?

No advice, just a comment. Power from the batteries cost you 60-cents to $1 per Kwh, and you sell it to the POCO for 10 to 15-cents.

Two Jewish Tailors, Abe and Barack, have shops next door to each other. Barack is selling suits as fast as he can make them, and Abe is real slow. Barack is selling suits for less than the material cost. So Abe ask Barack: "How do you make money selling for a loss?"

Barack answers: "Volume makes up for the losses".

Do you have any gear to program the XW ? Combox or SCP ? Without one or the other, you are stuck at factory defaults

@ Mike90250. Yes we have a SCP w/ the Xantrex XW. Unfortunately the manual does not cover this particular issue as either a warning, a fault or a warning/fault.

@ Sunking. Thanks for the insight and story.
