I didn't see any real pricing details, just estimates based on house size.

For my house size they estimate it will cost $80K for the solar roof, to cover 50% of my energy needs. I currently have a 10kW system that covers almost 100% of our needs. So if that scales that's $80K for 5000 watts, or $16 a watt.

That includes 1 PowerWall battery for $8k. $21.85 per square foot for Solar Roof. He certainly is not targeting the fiscal conservatives. I love how he had Consumer Reports do all of the calculating to see what the price range should be, and then undercut them a wee bit.

hey look, a tie in to the PowerWall. Didn't someone call that addition in the last Solar Roof thread?

For me it came back at $42k with no powerwall. It doesn't say how much production though. Doesn't really compete with my 3kw, with batteries and lifetime energy star shingles all for under $16k.

They clearly just counted on 30% of the entire cost.

On my conventional install a few years ago I put in energy star shingles and got discount on them but that has ended.

Not gonna bother with a quote (or post the link again) but in the hail simulation test, why is the Tesla tile mounted horizontally but the other tiles are mounted vertically?

More dramatic of a video most likely.

Someone posted that link a few days ago. Seems like it is not only a few of us on this Forum that have a credibility issue with Musk and his new solar product.
