Newbie to Solar looking for a stand alone system

I want to set up a DIY solar solution for a shed in my backyard that can power a few overhead lights, a small area heater for the winter, perhaps a fan in the summer, and from time to time some power tools. It will not be connected to the grid. I will need batteries particularly in the winter so that the heater can turn on and off at certain temperatures at night. I am based just outside of Washington DC.

Ideally I need help with a complete parts list. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My goal, and it may be lofty is to try and set this up by myself! If this is the wrong area to post, I do apologize.

You are ok with lights, fan's need more power, and a heater is not feasible.

Thanks Mike. Is there anyway I could get a heater in there? That's a high priority for me since I want to be able to keep my trees outside during the winter. Maybe using a smaller heater? Adding more batteries?

Batteries and heaters don't play well, heaters consume huge amounts of power. (and water pumps) I use old fashion kerosene lamps to keep our greenhouse above freezing in the winter, or maybe you need a Mr Buddy propane heater, but battery power is a no-go
