    Wattnode reading incorrect backwards power

I just got my two wattnodes mostly installed, still need to do the RS-485 connection to the inverter. One meter is an import/export meter, the other is a self-consumption meter.

Watching the LEDs on the import/export meter shows correct operation, or at least it seems to match-up with what my POCO's meter is showing, blinking green when I'm importing, red when I'm exporting.

However, the other meter that only measures what goes to the house is blinking nothing but red. I swapped the A CT, and the A phase blinked green. I have the white/black wires connected to the meter properly (check my pics). I turned off the inverters to see if maybe they were picking up noise from the feed to their panel, makes no difference.

Not sure if maybe this one is faulty, or what.

I swapped the CTs to the other meter, and it also indicated reverse power, so I'm guessing it's not the meter itself. These CTs have labels on the opposite side of where the wire enters, just like the "working" CTs, and the white/black orientation is correct. So, the only thing I can figure is if the white and black are wired reversed inside the CT.

I swapped the white/black wires on the reversed meter, and it reads forward power now, as it always will.

There is a label on the CTs that says "This side towards source". It is there for a reason. Swapping white and black will do the same thing, as long as you're not OCD.

Yep, and I septuple checked their orientation, and the white/black wire order on the terminals. I popped off the A CT, and the A phase turned solid green on the meter, so I know I have A for A.

So, I know that what I have labeled as A CT is on the A CT terminals. But, there's a small possibility that what is coming in on the A phase voltage terminals is actually B (A and B swapped). I'll confirm this evening with a meter.

It looks like both WattNodes are connected the same in your photo on the voltage side - is it possible the CTs are reversed on the left WattNode AND the voltage phases are reversed?

I seriously doubt it. I did watch the left meter for a few minutes late in the day yesterday. It would blink red when my POCO meter was showing export, and green when it was showing import, so it seems to be working properly regarding direction.

Um, yea... So, both of these were in place. Technically, the left meter was wired correctly, just the labels didn't match. That's why it appeared to be working properly.

I eyeballed the phases from the meter box to the 150A main, noting that the left phase was A for both. However, on the bus, A is on the RIGHT side, B is on the left. The 150A main crosses the phases over internally. Didn't expect that, not sure if that's common or not.

Both meters seem to work as expected now, with the correct wiring.
