  • small solar panel on large battery arrays

    Im just experimenting with small solar charger for my auto watering system, i have a small solar panel like this:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WN3E3O6...a-309547690018

    and using a board like this with 10 18650 batterys.:
    https://www.amazon.com/Lithium-Batte...+blancer+board

    Soalr charge controller:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    the solar panel is small but i'm using 10 18650 batteries , will that panel charge at all with that small of a solar panel or should i get another larger panel, its ok if it slowly charges with the smaller panel as i'm thinking that what it will do.

    So you have 0.5 watt panel trying to charge a 75 watt hour battery. Do you pee on a forest fire to put the fire out? Yoy only need 49.5 watts of panels to charge the batteries. Better buy 100 more panels.

      I like your analogy, but what i was asking was if that panel will charge the batteries, like at all and its ok if it takes 1 week in comparison to charging with more panels to do it faster. Also its 2.5 watts , 0.05 amps 5 volts would be 2.5 watts, correct ?

        You tell me.

        Watts = Volts x Amps.

        Not

        Watts = Volts x Amps x 10

        The answer to all your questions is NO. You are not talking a week, you are talking a month or longer. Pissing on on a forest fire.
