MSW inverter runs an AC well pump

Many people in the country where I am can only afford mod sinewave inverter. In areas with frequent poweroutages they want to use this inverter. Suppose 4 x a week they use the pump 15 minutes per poweroutage with the inverter, total thus only one hour per week.

will this effect the lifetime of the pump?. I myself tested a pump with msw inverter 1000w and it runs.

MSW will indeed run a motor, but it will make the motor run 10-20% hotter than normal. Heat shortens the lifetime of many things.

What's cheaper, a proper inverter, or replacement motor?
