    Some of it depends on tax status, annual income, interest rate etc so those are your adjustments.

    A 10 kW system reduces your bill greatly and looks possible as well - depends on how much you want to invest.

    It also depends on how you think the system will affect the saleability and sales price of your home. There are something like a million different schools of thought on this point. A good portion will depend on luck as well. From everything that I read you will most likely not get all your money back and possibly even none.

    Myself it would make no difference as being retired I have no plans on moving.

    According to that calculator you would have a positive cash flow from the first.

      I'm going with Sharp.

      I think i have it all worked out.

      I'm not so worried about recouping all my costs. I don't plan to ever sell the house (I just refinanced last year into a 15-year loan. I currently have about $250,000 in equity and plan to buy into a few income homes as prices continue to tumble.)

      So many factors!
