    Wire size?

I have three 260W panels the wire in them is 12AWG I want to join them on deck of my boat in combiner box, then to CC an outback 60 is the one I have in mind.
the distance to the 12 V battery bank with 6 6v GC T105 RE is about 30', I can put the CC about 15' or midway.
THinking #8 to the CC, then not sure wire gauge from CC to batt bank #6 (6% drop) or #4 (4% drop) according to http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm

    Your opinions

You can have up to 65 A coming out of the charge controller, so you want it close to the batteries to minimize the losses in the expensive heavy wire you use. Check to see what the max gauge wire the controller can handle. #4 is pretty large and tough to work with

What do you think from the panels to the CC #8 or #10?
