So I'm ready to hook my system up and I only just realized, as I was gifted these panels and Just didn't think, that they are set up with mape and female connections to wire in series. The voltage comes to 66.7 last I checked. These are the specs of panels. Rated max power. 220w +-3%
Open circuit voltage. 36.6
Rated voltage. 29.2
Short circuit current. 8.08
Rated current. 7.54.
Max system voltage. 1000
Fuse 15 a
This is specs of charge controller
MPPT 40a
12/24/36/48v
Max pv voltage 150v
Max pv input power 480w (12v) 960w (24v) 1400w (36v) 1700w (48v)
So for my application I planned on just wiring battery bank in parallel .I was surprised that the panels are set up to run in series. I'm only using 2 panels so the controller can handle I gather and step it down? Or do I want to wire in parallel? Or will them wired in series be good and fine to go through controller and charge my bank .I was just worried that much voltage might be much but if controller rated for 150v I'm fine I guess .trying to wrap my head around this stuff. Forgive me .
