Hello, just wonder how do I connect wire into this pin head for the MC4 connector? since this one does not have crimping wings like the other ones I see on the internet. I'm afraid I cannot use the crimping tool on this one right? may be use soldering instead. It also has a small hole. Thanks in advance

Amphenol crimping tool.jpg I believe these are Amphenol type contacts. Yes you need a different crimping die designed for these heavier contacts,

Those are Amphenol not MC4 connectors. The blue handled crimper pictured above is the correct tool to use. As far as I know it has nothing to do with current carrying capacity, just different brand hardware.Comment

While MC-4 IS an actual brand name, It has become somewhat of a generic name for that style of connector. The Amphenol connectors, AFAIK, have nearly identical exterior bodies.

This suggests there may be a question of quality among all the connectors offered out there. I
have not been highly impressed with the quality of assorted generic MC4 s used here, but they
seem to get the job done (5 years so far) when kept mated and sealed. Bruce RoeComment
