Enphase M250 replaced with S280 but still using original (oval shaped) Envoy

Couple of questions:

I know the "S280" is supposed to be used with the "Envoy-S" but what are the issues if used with the original Envoy?

I used the array builder to change out the inverter. Now I have an unassigned inverter (the failed M250). How do completely delete this inverter from my system?
