    Solar panels installation, not sure.

Hi guys, im new to solar energy and have purchased a kit for my boat.
I have 2 questions that im not sure about. At what rate do I fuse the battery connection, is it the controller ampage or the value of the solar panels.
Also what is the light load for on the right of the controller, my instructions say that you can run a low amp lighting unit, is this correct as im a bit confused.
thanks to all in advance, Mark.

The load output on your controller is for small loads and it's function is for battery protection.. A perfect use in your case would be to run your anchor light overnight. If for whatever reason your battery becomes heavily discharged the load circuit will shut down to protect your battery from damage.
Typically you fuse the battery to protect the cables from overload and damage, based on the ampacity of the cables. Naturally the larger output cables are going to use a higher amp fuse than your charge controllers output cables

Thanks very much for your reply, you made more sense than the instructions.
      All the very best.
