We've been off grid in southeast Arizona for 2.5 years, with solar and recently wind. Glad to be part of this community.

    Welcome
got any stats on your wind? Average power? any maintenance issues ?

Thanks, Mike. Aggie herer (Maybe I'll get my own login someday.) Rght now we're focused on our solar, recovering from a minor disaster and doing some tweaking.

The set is less than a year old, with no issues, at least not known issues, so far. (I expect issues with our setup, Lou does not.) I don't have any stats, but can share our experience. Although the maps show us as being in the worst category for reliable wind, the turbine has been a boon for the occasional cloudy stretches. I think we might also have solved this with more battery, but it's one way to skin the cat.

Do you have wind power yourself?

I do not have wind or hydro. I have a site with a 6 hr reliable breeze most days, but the added maintenance costs for wind & hydro, make it unattractive for me.

I don't disagree with you, Mike.

I didn't see a group topic for hybrid systems. That would be nice! --Aggie
