I just sign contract to install 32.4kw sunpower system. They will install 90 X22-360 panels all facing 180 on my house. I ended up with 3.24 per dc watt. I think i got a good deal, tell me what you think. The installer said it would be his largest residential system that he has installed. I am located in wilmington nc.

all panels are facing south near perfect. i will purchase system . sunpower will monitor system. i asked if i could. they will ned to ask sunpower. maybe since this is the largest system in my county. but they send a daily results to my dealer. then he notifies me of any problems with panels. all i can monitor is total use and power produced.

it's a good price, but an awful lot of little inverters to keep track of.Powerfab top of pole PV mount (2) | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||

i would also insist on personal monitoring of the ENTIRE SYSTEM, i.e. all individual panels. This is current technological state and so many different systems offer that I don't see a reason why you shouldn't have that. Or do you buy a car without power steering and power windows?Comment

i would agree, going to call my rep from local install tomorrow. hopefully they will say yes, do you know of third party monitoring system the will track individual panels that my be aviliable to me with sunpower system? If they say they cannot do it? I'm thinking they will say yes because of 90 panels. or hoping so.Comment

Any idea why duke power of the carolina would limit the size of my pv system? I have applied for a 32.4 kw system, my average power bill runs over 500 per month. the home is 8400 sf, plus a garage 1600sf with a 3 ton system in it. Basically 10,000 sf heated. They are saying that their max tier is for a 5000sf house. its like 24kw system. I assume that i generated a few more than used? they would then keep that and sell to other customers. can not figure why they are trying to limit me? Please advise with your option?Comment
