Hello, I found my way to this community because I am new to solar and would like to be a part of a community that shares knowledge that is obtained through real-world experience. I live in West Michigan USA and recently purchased four 285w panels. My neck of the woods is not very sunny in the winter but I hope to complete some testing and purchase several more panels before spring with the goal to be as off the grid as possible as soon as possible. I look forward to the sharing of information with the SolarPannelTalk community.

Hello BillNye and welcome to Solar Panel Talk
There are a few members that live off grid that can provide you with input. There is also an entire section concerning how to size an off grid system.
While the choice is yours to make, based on most information living off grid will not necessarily save you enough money to pay for the equipment compared to just purchasing power directly from a POCO.

BillNye, I already am a fan.
I have a couple of questions to ask. Which are you considering to do, ground mount or on your roof?Comment
