I probably should have joined this forum (or another like it years ago) however I've been really fortunate with my projects so far and have only a couple of $20 check valves that didn't work out.
A little history about myself: My family (wife, 2 kids, 18 chickens, 20 goats and 2 Labradors) and myself live above 6000' in the Montana Rockies in this off-grid home that I built myself (every nail, screw, pipe, wire, etc...not just playing GC)

We produce ~35 KwH/day with a 1800W solar array and a Harris turbine making 1150W
We dump our excess power into two 30A 48V water heating elements, which heats all our domestic hot water and some of our concrete pad.
I've been thinking about adding water panels (or tubes) so I can reduce the 10 cords of wood we burn per year. The amount of (sometimes contradicting) information on this topic, and the amount of info here led to me joining.
