Hello from Toronto, Canada

Hello forum,

Thanks for allowing me to become a part of this great forum! I come from a suburban neighborhood 15 miles north west of Toronto, Canada in a city called Brampton. Brampton has a population of about half a million and electricity is provided by a local hydro provider.

I have noticed that many people here live in remote areas that do not have electricity and their solar projects are pretty enormous. I have been very interested in solar technolgy for quite some time and would like to know more as I do have a rather simple project coming up. I hope I can gain the necessary knowledge here by the kind ladies and gentlemen on this forum. Once again, thanks for having me here!

Solar power up north, in winter, need large arrays to avoid generator runtime.

I'm just up the road from you in Cambridge. I'm looking for a greener solution. The dealers figure I could get away with 40-50, 250 Watt panels. Well that is out of the $$ question. I've applied to microfit months ago and I can't wait till the snows fly to install. Well just saying hi..

Those immense systems are probably based on winter time capacity - expensive!
