I currently have a small offgrid solar setup.
I will take the charge controller from my stationary setup and use that when traveling.
While I am gone, I want to keep the battery in float charge. It self-discharges at a rate of 3.5% per week at 80 F degrees.
So far, two options:
Either purchase another charge controller just to keep the battery in float.
Or purchase a battery charger and move the battery to a cabin where I have access to grid power.
The battery is a 12v 150ah golf cart battery and won't be a problem moving.
Are there any recommendations for a good quality battery charger to do this?
Or would a PWM charge controller do the job?
Since it only needs to prevent the self-discharge, spending less money would be ideal.
