Well I noticed a very loud noise today coming out of the sw4048 inverter. It was a loud burrrt noise. The system had seemed to be working properly with plenty of power so I splurged on a kureig coffee maker for the wife for Christmas. Alone it draws 1500 Watts for a few seconds and does not make the noise, but if I have 200 Watts of additional load it makes that noise. It is loud and sounds like something is coming apart inside. Different brand but I ran an old lathe off mine and it tripped the breaker on the inverter, this had never happened before in 11 years.
After that is got more and more noisy as time went by. I turned it off one day to do some maintenance and it would not restart.
It needed a new circuit board, there was nothing major wrong with it, but was $700 aud to repair and I was without it for 2 weeks so ran on gensets.
I would prepare to have it looked at while you can be ready to be without it.
