I purchased a vacation home in Baja, MX . (San felipe) The place is off grid with Solar and a Honda 4500 Generator. The Inverter is a Trace 2512, Batteries are 4 Crown L16 430ah batteries (12 volt) . I would like to replace the inverter with something 24 volt in the future but for now it's going to stay and has worked for the previous owner for 15 years. The previous owner had just replaced the old panels with 6 175w panels (Vmp 18.77, Imp9.5, Voc 23.78, Isc 9.87) these are wired in 2 strings with 3 in series. Also a new Outback FM80 MPPT Controller was installed.
My Question is the Output Amps I see on the charge controller in the peak of the day is a lot different then what I was expecting. The most I have seen is 42amps at around 12:30 in the afternoon. This was with the batteries at 12.2 Volts at 7:30 am. and a heavy load like a vacuum running. Does this seem right? My understanding from the Outback string tool was that 76 amps would be my peak amps in good conditions.
