Recently purchased 4 Trojan T145 FLA batteries. When delivered to my home I measured the voltage and all of them were around the 6.28/6.3v level. I charged them several times over a week but they continually return to that 6.3 level. I was told that the acid isn't added to FLA batteries until just before they are delivered but in my case it seems that this isn't correct because they seem to be sulphated already. The Trojan information pamphlet says that they should float at 6.6v. My inverter charger won't even turn on when these batteries are connected giving the error message that the batteries are less than 1.9v per cell.
AM I right in thinking that they are 'old' batteries'?
I intend to take them back to the supplier to get the looked at. The supplier said they they will try to fix them or if they can't be fixed he will replace them. Is he able to fix them and how would he do that? Should I insist that he replaces them?
