I'm putting together an off grid system for my barn with living quarters. I have six Solar World 285v panels on the roof. I haven't bought the inverter, CC or batteries yet.
There is a used forklift battery close to me and they are asking $1,600. It is a 24-85-13 battery; 804 amp hours at 20 hour rate. Plate on battery calls for a charge rate of 104 amps and a finish rate of 26 amps.
If I go this route will the Schneider XW-MPPT60 get the job done or do I really need a charger that pumps out 100a bulk?
They say the battery is about six years old. Anything I should do other than check the specific gravity of each cell?
I think the series connector bars are welded on. Is there a way to easily convert it to flag/bolt type connectors?
Thanks.
