Small 10W Solar System with a Regulated 12V Output?

Hi all, new to all of this so hopefully someone can help me!

I have a small monitoring system that requires a 12V supply to operate. I assumed the 12V output from my cheap regulator would be that, just 12V, however it is as much as 16V on a sunny day which causes a bit of an issue. The system can handle a fully charged lead acid battery, around 14V but 16V is too high. Are there any small 12V regulators that offer a regulated 12V DC output?

    Thanks in advance!

A battery charge controller can go well above 12V. Are you sure this is a problem; most "12V" loads are designed to
work over the voltage range of a battery? If you must have exactly 12V, use another regulator from the battery to
the load. The problem with this, is many regs require an input at least 2V higher than the output. Bruce Roe
