    Power Optimizers

Has any had experience with these in the RV industry? Fromantic what little info I have found seems they would be ideal. Thoughts......

They would be good if parking the RV led to mixed partial shade over different panels at different times of day.
They would not increase total output which is limited by poor panel angle to the sun or overall average shade.
The other way to get similar but less effective results would be to operate all the panels in parallel.
What the optimizers can do that simple parallel operation cannot would include getting 1/3 or 2/3 of full output from a partially shaded panel be forcing the bypass diodes to conduct while parallel operation would restrict the current from the panel to the current of the worst shaded cell.

An MPPT controller will give you similar results except for helping with shading on serial wired panel issues. Keep your panels from getting shaded by AC units and other roof mounted items like plumbing vents and crank up vents. Tiltable panels will help as well.
