After some reading, a noob question and some more reading can someone tell me if I got this right for my setup?
Application:
1) Kayak (a fat fishing kayak, I can store stuff below)
2) My electronic device Specs: input 10-20vDC, 650mAh consumption
3) Batteries: 2xAGM 10Ah
4) A home plug-in charger I can use at the end of most days to top up the batteries at night.
5) Use 6-14 hour days when I can charge via plug at night. 6 hours when I don't have a night time charger.
6) Some days there will be barely any sun, so it is accepted that sometimes I can do with out electronics
7) future expansion will be an 8~ electronic device on top of the existing ~8W consumption for a total of 16W
Charge System
1) Batteries: 2xAGM 10Ah in parallel
2) Electronics in parallel
3) 20-30W flexible panel, probably poly
4) Panel output voltage 12V-16V <-this is where I have a question.
5) Charge controller, el-cheapo: PWM, adjustable. https://www.amazon.com/Controller-Re...rb_top?ie=UTF8 The thing I am uncertain about is what voltage I need to charge the AGM batteries during the day. If I get a 12V output solar panel I suspect that is not going to charge those batteries. I think I should be getting a panel 15V or more and eat a small loss on the PWM. What do I get?
I don't have a lot of money to invest on this, I love my kayak but only get to use it 30 days a year at most. Any other comments?
