Distance from panels to controller

Hey folks,
Very new to renewable energy but I catch on quick. I have an outback grid tie now with a wind generator. I have 8 Trojan 6 volt batteries set up as 24 volt, and a charge controller that will manage wind and solar. I just purchased 10 Sharp 240 watt panels and I need to know the best way to wire them and how far from my house I can put them.

Ok ignore my post in your other thread.
Is there a way to convert to 48V? It would be easier on the batteries to put them all in series not to mention less voltage drop.
10 panels will be a challenge for a charge controller using all 10
Most CC's are limited to 150V with the exception of the Xantrex 80-600. and a few of the outback series will allow 150V + battery voltage.
If you use the Xantres as above you could put all in series and feed to a 48V battery.

My charge controller can handle 48 volt for sure, 440 amp up to 10k watt

You cannot put the solar on the same charge controller as the wind turbine. they must be separate. Both however can connect to a common battery bank.

Since you do not have a real charge controller, and the panels have a Vmp of 38 volts you are forced operating on a 24 volt battery you must wire all the panels in parallel. But we already covered this in your other thread so no since discussing it any further.
