  • 2 inverters to single meter

    Hi All,

We run into a situation that we are feeding 2 inverters to single meter. 2 separate breakers and AC disconnect (Safety Switch) . Utility inspector required single point of isolation and now we have to find a most cost effective way to combine them. Any smart ideas?????

Beat your inspector about the head and shoulders.
Multiple switches are OK provided there are no more than 6 throws to disconnect all power according to the NEC.

now if this is a utility requirement you can get around it this way
Use a 6 circuit panel feed the two inverters backfed into individual breakers of appropriate size
next install in that panel a circuit breaker of the size you need for both inverters and feed that to a single breaker in the panel.

Be sure to mark all breakers appropriately.
