  • One way DC current diode

    Hi
Pls advise that do I need to put one-way DC current diodes in between by Solar Charge Controller and batteries bank ?
I just want to be sure that current does not flow back from batteries to the charge controller.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

No not necessary, A quality CC will already have one built in.

Most newer CC even allow accidental reverse hook up, and automatically switch.

        re: Outback

CC if it was made after 2001 has it in it.

DONT USE ONE it will confuse the charge controller as it will give a .7 v drop to the batteries

Martshmoo: Thanks.. mine is brand new, purchased this month. Moreover, I contacted the supplier in china, and they confirmed that the CC already has in-built safety. So no need for such items.

John P : Thanks, I agree. Further, as the manufacturer has also confirmed me that safetys are already inplace inside the CC, so no need for these.
