  • Options for solar shading structures

    Guys,

I have a 20 foot by 15 foot area next to my pool that's uncovered and un-shaded. I want to put shading structure that holds solar panels and looks decent and will serve as a rest area from the sun.

After spending some time on research I found these brands:
    - PHATport 350
    - NRGHome
    -
Called all three, but could not reach anybody. Could not find any pricing on any of solar shade structure kits. It surprised me how few products are available for solar shading structures.

Can anybody recommend me a Solar shading structures I can buy as a kit? I prefer metal structure, but will consider treated wood. Could not find any discussions regarding Solar shading structures on the forum.

I like the look of Sunpreme double sided solar panels, but then there is very little info on their panels as well. Anybody dealt with Sunpreme double sided solar panels?

No idea about kits, but I did see a nice writeup at
    http://www.builditsolar.com/Projects...n%20Winter.pdf
    describing one such project.

I've seen some of PHAT's installations, they looked slick. Did you try emailing them to ask for a quote, or are you definitely DIY?

That looks nice. This article has a nice structure as well:

Never seen PHAT installation, but would like to see one. Looking at PhatPort canopy documentation I see they have them pre-made for a few different solar panels where it is all integrated.

        Schletter has a carport solution

Metal, looks industrial/modern. We thought about painting ours in Mondrian style but laid down until the urge passed. See photos on my pvout page.
